4x4 Camping-Car Side Awning

What is a car side awning?
A car side awning mounts to the roof rails or roof luggage rack of a vehicle and unfolds to create a covered area alongside it, giving shelter from sun or rain. Sizes vary to suit different vehicle lengths, and the doors remain accessible while the awning is deployed.

The unit is fixed to the vehicle roof and is normally opened by hand, either pulled out or rolled out. The canopy is attached to a rigid aluminum frame, supported by legs and held in position by guy ropes and pegs.

What size of awning is required?
Vehicle requirements vary, but the continuous dual channels on the rear of the case allow mounting at any two points along its length. Measure the vehicle length and the area to be covered when selecting a size, and avoid excessive overhang beyond the vehicle, which is unsafe for other road users while driving.

Materials and construction
The awnings are built for a balance of low weight and durability. All canvas components, including walls, windbreaks, and extensions, use 420D Oxford polyester, which is waterproof, mildew resistant, and UV protective, making it suitable for extended outdoor use.

The same specification applies to the remaining parts. A heavy-duty canvas outer storage bag protects the canopy in transit and keeps out water and road dust. The frame consists of anodized aluminum rods, rigid under load while retaining enough flex in wind.

Guy ropes secure the awning in windy conditions, and two heavy-duty aluminum pegs are supplied instead of lightweight pins. Zippers are selected for repeated use on the main tracks.

Each awning is supplied with a complete accessory kit, including bolts, brackets, tools, and fitting instructions for vehicle installation.

Because the rear channels run the full length of the case, the awning can be mounted at any two points, which covers most roof rack and crossbar spacings. Confirm the vehicle length before placing an order.
